Make Dumpling Wrappers from Scratch

You never have to worry again when you ran out of dumpling wrappers because you can easily make them at home with just 2 ingredients - FLOUR and WATER!🥟👌

Make 24 dumpling wrappers

Ingredients

200g all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)

100ml hot water

Instruction

  1. Add flour in a large mixing bowl, stir in hot water gradually and mix well. It may look like a loose dough at this stage.

  2. Kneed until the dough is well combined and smooth.

  3. Rest the dough in the bowl covered with damp tea towel for 45mins.

  4. Poke the dough in centre, if it doesn’t bounce back, means it received enough rest and is ready to roll! (If not, rest it for another 30 mins, covered)

  5. Divide the dough into 24 pieces, each piece weights about 12-13g. (JFYI, you don’t need to weight them precisely😂)

  6. Press each mini dough into a small disc, roll it into a thin wrapper (about 3” in diameter) with a rolling pin, dust with flour and set aside on a parchment paper or non-stick tray.

  7. If you are not wrapping the dumpling in small batch straight away, cover the tray with a damp tea towel to avoid dry out.

  8. Repeat with the rest of the dough discs.

  9. Make sure to heavy dust each wrapper with flour if you plan to stack freeze them in freezer.

To Defrost

Leave the frozen wrappers (covered/remain in freezer bag, to avoid dry out) in room temperature for 30mins before use.

If you wish to make the yellow dumpling wrappers I used above, you can simply add 1/2 tsp of ground turmeric/nature yellow colouring powder to the flour before adding hot water.

This wrappers are perfect for Beef and Coriander Potstickers too!

How about some Korean Chicken and Kimchi Mandu Dumplings as well?🥟
